Michael Sean Quinn is a fellow of the College of the State Bar of Texas and past chair of the Insurance Section of the State Bar of Texas. His principal areas of practice include insurance law and litigation, business litigation and attorney malpractice. Mr. Quinn has served as an adjunct professor of The University of Texas School of Law, Southern Methodist University, University of Houston and St. Edward’s University. He is a recipient of the Outstanding Law Journal Award presented by the Texas Bar Foundation and in 2005, the Governing Board of the Insurance Section of the Texas State Bar unanimously elected Quinn the first “Legend of Insurance Law” for the State of Texas. Mr. Quinn holds an AV Martindale rating.
Michael Sean Quinn was admitted to the Texas State Bar in 1980 and also admitted to practice before U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit; U.S. District Court, Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas. Preparatory education, University of Texas at Austin (B.A., 1965); University of Pittsburgh (Ph.D., 1973); legal education, University of Missouri, Kansas City (J.D., 1980). Certified: Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter, 2001; Associate: Claims, 2001; Underwriting, 2001; Surplus Loans Insurance, 2002; Fidelity and Surety Bonding, 2002; Marine Insurance Management, 2002; Insurance Services, 2003. Mr. Quinn has authored various publications regarding insurance law and/or the law of lawyering. He is a Member of the State Bar of Texas (Insurance Section; Chairman, 2002); American Bar Association.

Mr. Quinn has written two book sections and 79 journal and magazine articles on a variety of legal topics. He served as a columnist for Insurance Journal: The Property and Casualty Magazine of Texas from 1998 to 2001 and has written many book reviews.
